All on 4 Dental Implants Replace Slipping Dentures
All-on-4 Dental Implants are implant supported dentures that are designed to prevent the common issues of slipping and shifting associated with traditional dentures. The technique was specifically designed to assist patients suffering from missing teeth and limited bone density to avoid having a bone graft. Because they only require four implants, unlike traditional bridges which generally require six to ten implants, the All-on-4 dental implant method provides an effective solution that effectively reduces the total time and cost involved. Best of all, unlike dentures, they provide a permanent solution (none removable) and feel just more like regular teeth.
At Marin Contemporary Perio and Implant Concepts, we offer a wide range of periodontal and dental implant services. We treat referred and non-referred patients in a peaceful, modern setting, and are committed to partnering with our patients throughout their treatment. We are committed to exceeding expectations, and provide the highest level of dental care to achieve the ultimate goal of optimal oral health for all of our patients.

All-on-4 Aftercare
Much like your natural teeth, it is important that you maintain good daily cleaning habits, including daily brushing and flossing. In addition to practicing good daily self-care, the most important thing you can do to continue taking care of your oral health is to schedule regular visits with your periodontist every six months. During these routine checkups, your periodontist can monitor the overall state of your oral health and determine how well your All-on-4 implants are doing and catch any additional issues before they develop. By maintaining these habits, you will be well on your way to preventing additional issues from developing in the future.
How All on 4 Dental Implants Work
The All-on-4-Implant will begin with an initial evaluation by your periodontist to determine if you are a good fit for this particular type of implant. After this has been determined, your periodontist will then perform an examination of your jawbone to ensure that the bone and structural integrity are strong enough to hold an implant.
If you are a viable candidate to have this procedure, the next step after extracting the decayed tooth and cleaning the area will be to install four strategically placed titanium posts into your jawbone. Titanium is used because it is the only metal that naturally integrates with the bone.
Prior to implanting these posts, your periodontist will provide a local anesthetic. We offer a variety of options for sedation, which includes nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and intravenous sedation. Be sure to discuss what option you prefer with your periodontist prior to this procedure.
Once the anesthetic is working and the area has been prepared, your periodontist will implant the four posts which will be used to anchor your dentures. It is important to be aware that following the placement of these posts, you will need at least three or four months (possibly longer) to allow the titanium to integrate with your jawbone. During this healing process, we will provide a temporary set of dentures, which we will customize for your particular mouth. Once you have fully healed from this process, you will return to our office, where the permanent All-on-4 dental implants will be placed. There are cases in which the teeth can be attached to the implants on the same day they are placed. This is what many people have seen advertised as “teeth in a day”.
Cost of All on Four
Like most dental procedures, the final cost will be determined by a variety of factors, such as the severity of your case, where you are located geographically, and what type of insurance plan you currently have. There are additional factors that are unique to determining the final cost for All-on-4, including whether or not you are doing both upper and lower arches, along with the amount of lab work that will be required and the anesthesiologist fees. Your periodontist can provide you with a more accurate estimate following the 3D CT scan.
Our practice does accept most dental insurance programs, including non-managed care, indemnity (traditional), and PPO out-of-network. Our staff will be happy to submit a pre-treatment estimate to your insurance company so you can determine what your benefits will be. Or, if you are not currently covered by insurance or have concerns about the final cost, our staff will be happy to discuss other financial arrangements with you.
