How Much Do Denture Implants Cost?

Marin Contemporary Perio & Implant Concepts

If you are missing most of your teeth or need to have them extracted, implant-supported dentures are a great way to restore your mouth! This is one of the more costly options but they are much more aesthetically pleasing and sturdy than traditional dentures.

There are a number of options available to replace all of the teeth in your mouth but implant-supported dentures are the superior choice.

All-on-4 Implant-Supported Dentures v Traditional Dentures

An implant-supported denture is a normal porcelain and acrylic denture secured into place by four to eight implants. This type of denture cannot be removed except by a dentist and is incredibly durable and sturdy. Since the denture is held in place by the implants, there is no adhesive that has to be used every day and your denture will not slip while you are speaking or eating.

Traditional dentures are definitely more aesthetically pleasing these days then in the past but not much has changed in the way of adhesion and retention. Traditional dentures are still likely to slip and rub against your gums causing sores.

There is also the matter of bone structure. Your jawbone can begin to deteriorate over time if you have a traditional denture. This can cause the shape of your face to change and make your denture not fit properly, causing you to need a replacement denture possibly every 10 years or so. However, an implant-supported denture actually helps bone structure stay strong and regenerate as needed. Without the roots of your teeth, the jawbone has nothing to stimulate regeneration but an implant acts as the root of your tooth and therefore helps stimulate the bone.

How much do implant-supported dentures cost?

An all-on-4 implant-supported denture is an investment in your mouth and overall health. The cost of one arch can be up to $30,000, depending on the number of implants you require. Four implants is the most common but some doctors prefer to use six or even eight implants per arch.

If you need a bone graft, that will add to your overall cost of treatment. Your doctor will be able to tell you if you are healthy enough to receive implants or if you will require a bone graft.

Implant-supported dentures are more costly but they are an investment in the overall health and well-being of your body. If you have financial concerns, speak with your doctor to see if they have any in-house financial plans available or if they perhaps work with a third-party financing company. Don’t let the cost deter you from getting the treatment you need.
